Introduction
Smart PDF Toolkit ("App", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application developed by GenZApps. The App provides tools for scanning, creating, converting, organizing, editing, compressing, protecting, signing, annotating, and managing PDF documents on Android devices.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information and documents.
1. Information We Access
Camera
The App may request camera access when you use the document scanning feature. Camera access is used to capture documents, detect document boundaries, scan pages, apply document enhancement, and create PDF documents.
Photos and Files
The App may request access to photos, media, or files when you choose to import images, select PDFs, create PDFs from images, convert PDFs to images, merge or split documents, annotate documents, or protect PDFs.
The App accesses files selected by you or required for the requested operation.
Microphone
Smart PDF Toolkit does not require microphone access unless a future feature specifically requires it.
Location
Smart PDF Toolkit does not collect or use your device location.
Contacts
Smart PDF Toolkit does not access your contacts.
2. Documents and Personal Files
Documents processed by Smart PDF Toolkit may contain personal or sensitive information, including names, addresses, identification documents, educational records, financial documents, business documents, invoices, contracts, signatures, and other information contained in documents selected by you.
Ordinary PDF operations are designed to be performed on-device, including:
- Document scanning
- Image-to-PDF conversion
- PDF-to-image conversion
- PDF merging
- PDF splitting
- PDF compression
- PDF annotation
- PDF signing
- PDF password protection
- Local document management
Documents processed entirely on-device remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.
3. OCR Processing
Smart PDF Toolkit may provide Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from images and documents.
Where OCR is implemented using an on-device OCR engine, the document or image is processed locally on your device. OCR results may be stored locally so that you can view, search, copy, or use extracted text to create searchable PDFs.
If a future version uses a cloud-based OCR provider, this Privacy Policy will be updated and the relevant disclosure will be provided.
4. PDF Security and Password Protection
Smart PDF Toolkit may allow you to protect PDF documents with passwords and encryption. Passwords entered by you are used to perform the requested PDF protection operation.
We do not intentionally collect or transmit your PDF passwords to our servers. If you forget a password created for a protected PDF, Smart PDF Toolkit may not be able to recover it.
5. Electronic Signatures and Annotations
The App may allow you to add:
- Hand-drawn signatures
- Typed signatures
- Stamps
- Text
- Highlights
- Drawings
- Shapes
- Other annotations
These items are processed and stored as part of your documents on your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export them.
6. Information We Collect
The core PDF functionality of Smart PDF Toolkit is designed to operate without requiring you to create an account.
We do not intentionally collect:
- Your PDF document contents
- Your scanned document contents
- Your personal files
- Your signatures
- Your PDF passwords
- Your contacts
- Your location
- Your SMS messages
- Your call history
However, certain third-party services or SDKs included in the App may collect limited technical, diagnostic, or advertising information if those services are enabled. The Google Play Data Safety declaration will reflect the SDKs and services included in the released version of the App.
7. Advertising
If advertising is enabled in Smart PDF Toolkit, the App may use third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob to display advertisements.
Advertising providers may process information such as:
- Advertising identifiers
- Approximate device information
- App interaction information
- Diagnostic information
- Advertising and measurement information
Information collected by advertising providers is governed by their respective privacy policies.
If the production version of Smart PDF Toolkit does not contain advertising SDKs, this section does not apply.
8. Analytics and Crash Reporting
If analytics or crash-reporting services are included in the production version, limited technical information may be processed to detect crashes, diagnose technical problems, improve application stability, understand general feature usage, and improve application performance.
Such information may include:
- App version
- Android version
- Device model
- Crash information
- Diagnostic information
- General interaction information
We will not intentionally use analytics services to collect the contents of your PDFs.
9. Third-Party Services
Smart PDF Toolkit may use third-party services for specific purposes such as advertising, analytics, crash reporting, Google Play services, and payment processing for optional purchases or subscriptions.
Third-party providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable terms.
If third-party services are added or changed, this Privacy Policy may be updated accordingly.
10. Sharing of Your Documents
We do not sell or rent your documents or personal information.
Smart PDF Toolkit does not automatically share your PDF documents with third parties as part of ordinary on-device PDF processing.
You may voluntarily share documents using Android's sharing functionality, including with messaging applications, email services, cloud-storage applications, printers, or other applications.
When you choose to share a document, the receiving application or service will handle the document according to its own privacy policy.
11. Data Storage
Documents created or processed by Smart PDF Toolkit may be stored:
- In the App's local storage
- In device storage
- In locations selected by you
The App may maintain local information such as:
- Document names
- File paths
- File sizes
- Page counts
- Creation dates
- Favorites
- Categories
- Recent documents
12. Data Retention and Deletion
Because documents are primarily stored on your device, you control the retention of your locally stored documents.
You can delete documents using the App's document management functionality or Android's file-management features.
You may also uninstall the App. Depending on where a file was saved, uninstalling the App may not automatically delete files explicitly saved to shared device storage.
Temporary processing files may be removed by the App when they are no longer required.
13. Children's Privacy
Smart PDF Toolkit is a general-purpose productivity application and is not specifically directed toward children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or other purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the App's functionality.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
14. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by Smart PDF Toolkit.
- Local processing where supported
- Limiting access to files to the functionality requested by the user
- Use of Android platform security mechanisms
- Secure handling of application data
- Avoiding unnecessary transmission of document contents
However, no electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should also protect their Android device using appropriate security measures such as a screen lock and device encryption.
15. Your Choices
You control how Smart PDF Toolkit accesses your device. You can:
- Deny camera permission
- Deny photo or file access
- Revoke permissions through Android Settings
- Delete documents
- Choose which files to process
- Choose whether to share documents with other applications
- Disable or limit advertising personalization through available Android or Google controls
Some features may not work when the permissions required for those features are denied.
16. Internet Connectivity
The core PDF processing functionality is designed to work offline where technically supported.
An internet connection may nevertheless be required for optional services such as:
- Advertising
- Analytics
- Crash reporting
- Google Play services
- In-app purchases or subscriptions
- Other future online features
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
For significant changes, we may provide additional notice within the App where appropriate. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
